Paladius
Complete guide to finding and capturing Paladius in Palworld 1.0. Location, stats, drops, and strategy.
Location & Spawn
Paladius is a Neutral-type Pal, Paldeck No. 198. You won’t find this one wandering around in the open world. It’s a boss encounter, specifically a Level 60 Alpha Paladius. Head to the Desiccated Desert area, in the northeastern part of the map. The exact coordinates are 447, 679. You’ll find it roaming the desert alongside Necromus.
How to Catch
This is a tough fight. Paladius is level 60 and hits hard. Bring a team of high-level Pals, ideally level 55 or higher. Paladius is a Neutral-type Pal, which means it’s weak to Dark-type attacks (2× damage). Bring Dark-type Pals like Frostallion Noct or Necromus — both carry the Lord of the Underworld passive for boosted Dark damage. Use a mount with good mobility to dodge its charge attacks. When its health gets low, swap to your best spheres. Legendary Spheres or better are recommended. Time your throws for when it’s stunned or after a big attack animation.
Stats
- HP: 130
- Attack: 120
- Defense: 145
These are base stats. Paladius is tanky with high defense, so expect a longer fight.
Work Suitability
- Lumbering Lv 6 — Strong woodcutting for your logging site.
- Mining Lv 6 — Solid mining capability for ore and stone.
Paladius Weakness
Paladius is a Neutral-type Pal. Neutral Pals are weak to Dark-type attacks — Dark moves deal 2× damage to them. No other type deals extra damage, and Neutral itself has no offensive strengths (its attacks never hit for more than 1×). This makes Paladius a stat-check fight with one real type advantage: bring Dark-type Pals and focus on boosted Dark damage to win.
Best Counters
| Pal | Type | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Frostallion Noct | Dark | 140 base Attack with the Lord of the Underworld passive (+20% Dark damage per wiki.gg; exact 1.0 value unlisted) and Black Steed. Its Dark attacks hit Paladius for 2× damage — the only type that does. Its speed also helps dodge Paladius’s charge attacks. |
| Necromus | Dark | The highest base Attack among legendaries (145) with Lord of the Underworld. Dark moves deal 2× to Paladius, and Necromus’s bulk lets it trade blows in a long fight. |
| Jetragon | Dragon | No type advantage against Paladius (Dragon hits Neutral for 1×), but if you pull the duo, Jetragon deals 2× to Necromus while your Dark Pals focus Paladius. Its raw damage and speed keep it useful either way. |
What to Avoid
| Type | Why |
|---|---|
| Neutral attacks | Neutral has no offensive strengths — your Neutral-type moves deal only 1× to Paladius. Use Dark Pals instead: Dark is the only element that hits Paladius for 2×. |
| Low-level or under-geared Pals | Paladius’s 145 base Defense and hard-hitting Neutral attacks make this a long fight. Anything below level 50 will struggle to keep up — bring your highest-level Dark Pals. |
| Watch for Necromus | Paladius spawns alongside Necromus (Dark-type) in the Desiccated Desert. If you pull both, Dragon Pals are ideal (2× vs Necromus) while Dark Pals handle Paladius (2×). Avoid pulling them together unless you’re ready for a double boss fight. |

Tips & Strategy
- Bring a dark weapon to chip away at its health from range.
- Watch out for its charging attack. It has a long wind-up but hits like a truck. Roll to the side.
- Use Pals with stun or freeze abilities to lock it down for a few seconds.
- If you’re struggling, level up your strongest Pals to 50+ first. Bring Dark-type Pals — Dark attacks deal 2× to Paladius, so the type advantage is real.
- Stock up on healing items and ammo before the fight. It’s a resource check.
Breeding
- Breed Power: 80
- Legendary rule: can ONLY breed with same species. Paladius + Paladius = Paladius. No crossbreeding.
- Exclusive passives: Legend, Celestial Emperor
- Average breeding time: ~2 hours per egg (Huge Common Egg)
Paladius follows standard legendary breeding rules: same species only. The egg type is Huge Common, which fits its Neutral element. Breeding is worth it if you want to stack defense-focused passives on top of its already massive 145 base Defense.

Passive Skills
- Legend — Attack +20% (per wiki.gg; the 1.0 changelog confirms Legend was enhanced but doesn’t publish exact new values), Defense +20%, Movement Speed +15%. Universal legendary passive.
- Celestial Emperor — Neutral damage +20% (per wiki.gg; 1.0 notes confirm Emperor passives were increased but exact values unlisted). Stacks with Legend for a significant combined boost — exact 1.0 total unconfirmed. Exclusive to Paladius.
Both passives are guaranteed on wild Alpha catches. Paladius has the highest base Defense in the game (145), so Legend’s 20% Defense boost makes it an absolute wall. Pair with Burly Body or Stronghold Strategist through breeding for an unkillable tank.
