Frostallion Noct

Frostallion Noct

Complete guide to finding and capturing Frostallion Noct in Palworld 1.0. Location, stats, drops, and strategy.

Location & Spawn

Frostallion Noct is a Dark-type Pal that spawns as an Alpha Pal at the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary. You’ll find it at coordinates (689, 648), in the northeastern ocean. It’s an overworld Alpha spawn, not a dungeon boss.

Since version 0.4.11.0, Frostallion Noct has its own Alpha spawn. Prior to that, it could only be obtained through breeding.

How to Catch

You need to fly out to the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s a high-level zone, so bring a team around level 60-65. Frostallion Noct is aggressive and will attack on sight. Stock up on Hyper Spheres or Legendary Spheres—it has a low catch rate.

Weaken it to low HP, then hit it with a status effect like Freeze or Sleep. It’s fast and hits hard, so stay mobile. Bring a mount with decent speed to dodge its attacks. Since it doesn’t sleep at night (Dark-type), you can engage it at any time.

Stats

  • HP: 140
  • Attack: 140
  • Defense: 135

It has high Attack and HP with solid Defense. You’ll want to invest in attack-focused passives if you’re using it for combat.

Frostallion Noct Weakness

Frostallion Noct is a Dark-type Pal, making it weak to Dragon-type attacks. Dragon attacks deal 2× damage to Dark Pals, and Dark attacks deal only 0.5× damage to Dragon Pals in return — so your Dragon counters take half damage while dishing out double. At level 65 with 140 base Attack, this Alpha hits harder than most field bosses, so bring your strongest Dragon team and end the fight before Black Steed’s boosted Dark moves wear you down.

Best Counters

PalTypeWhy
JetragonDragonThe strongest Dragon Pal with 140 base Attack and Divine Dragon passive (+20% Dragon damage per wiki.gg; exact 1.0 value unlisted). Its Dragon active skills (Dragon Burst, Dragon Meteor) shred Frostallion Noct for 2× damage, and it takes only 0.5× from Dark moves. Its 3,300 sprint speed also makes it the fastest way to reach the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary spawn.
QuivernDragonPure Dragon-type that’s much easier to obtain than Jetragon. Solid stats and Dragon-element active skills deal reliable 2× damage. It resists Dark attacks at 0.5×, and its bulk covers the sanctuary’s PIDF guards while you fight.
RelaxaurusDragon/WaterA tanky Dragon/Water hybrid accessible early. While its Water typing means it takes neutral damage from Dark moves (Water vs Dark is 1×), its Dragon attacks still hit for the full 2× multiplier. Good budget option before you catch Jetragon.

What to Avoid

TypeWhy
NormalDark Pals resist Normal attacks at 0.5× damage. Your Normal-type Pals will hit like wet noodles.
DarkDark vs Dark deals 1× damage — same-element matchups have no bonus or penalty. Mirror matches are slow and inefficient — use Dragon instead.

Partner Skill

Frostallion Noct’s Partner Skill is Black Steed. While riding, your attacks deal Dark damage and Dark attacks are enhanced. Converts your attacks to Dark element and boosts Dark damage output.

Tips & Strategy

  • Use it as a fast mount for overworld traversal. Its stamina is solid for a Dark Pal.
  • Pair it with Dark-type damage boost passives like “Lord of the Underworld” or “Ferocious.”
  • The Pure Quartz and Large Pal Soul drops are useful for crafting, so farm this spawn if you need them.
  • Don’t rely on it for tanking—swap it out if you’re taking heavy hits.
  • Bring a Dragon-type Pal to counter its Dark attacks if you’re fighting it.

Breeding

  • Breed Power: 100
  • Breeding combo: Frostallion + Helzephyr = Frostallion Noct. This is the ONLY way to breed it. You can’t pair two Frostallion Nocts together.
  • Exclusive passives: Legend, Lord of the Underworld
  • Average breeding time: ~2 hours per egg (Huge Dark Egg)

Frostallion Noct breaks the usual legendary rule. You need a regular Frostallion and a Helzephyr in the breeding ranch. Two Frostallion Nocts won’t produce an egg. One upside: Helzephyr can pass down the Lucky passive, which gives +15% Attack and +15% Work Speed. That means Frostallion Noct is the only legendary that can hatch with Lucky without trait modification.

Passive Skills

  • Legend — Attack +20% (per wiki.gg; the 1.0 changelog confirms Legend was enhanced but doesn’t publish exact new values), Defense +20%, Movement Speed +15%. Standard legendary passive.
  • Lord of the Underworld — Dark damage +20% (per wiki.gg; 1.0 notes confirm Emperor passives were increased but exact values unlisted). Stacks with Legend for a significant combined boost — exact 1.0 total unconfirmed. Shared with Necromus — and on Frostallion Noct it’s the only way to pair a Dark damage boost with the Lucky passive, inherited from the Helzephyr parent.

Both passives come guaranteed on wild-caught Alpha Frostallion Nocts. Through breeding, you can also inherit Lucky from the Helzephyr parent — a unique trait no other legendary can get naturally.

1.0 Update Changes

  • Lord of the Underworld passive buffed
