Necromus
Complete guide to finding and capturing Necromus in Palworld 1.0. Location, stats, drops, and strategy.
Location & Spawn
Necromus spawns in the far northeast corner of the map, in the Sunreach area. You’ll find it roaming the snowy plateau near the Eternal Pyre Tower, roughly at coordinates (700, -850). It’s a field boss, not a dungeon spawn, so it’s always out in the open. Necromus is a level 50 boss, so don’t wander up there unless you’re ready.
It spawns during both day and night, no special weather conditions needed. If you kill or capture it, it respawns after about an hour of real time.
How to Catch
You need a Legendary Sphere or better to have a real shot at catching Necromus. Ultra Spheres might work if you get its health really low, but don’t count on it. Bring at least 50 Legendary Spheres and some Hyper Spheres as backup.
Get Necromus down to 5% health or less. Use a Pal with strong Ice attacks, like Frostallion or Vanwyrm, since Dark types are weak to Ice. Avoid using any Fire or Dark Pals against it — they’ll get shredded.
Status effects help a lot. Freeze or stun it with a Pal like Blizzard Spike or an Ice-type active skill, then throw spheres while it’s locked in place. Necromus moves fast and hits hard, so don’t try to catch it while it’s charging at you.
Stats
- HP: 130
- Attack: 145
- Defense: 120
Necromus has high attack and decent defense, but its HP is a bit low for a legendary. That’s good news for you — it goes down faster than some other field bosses. Just don’t let it hit you more than a couple times.
Drops
Necromus drops 10 Hexolite when defeated or captured. That’s it — no special schematics or unique materials. Hexolite is used for high-end crafting, so farming Necromus is one of the best ways to stock up.
Partner Skill
Necromus’s Partner Skill is called “Dark Knight’s Steed.” It increases your Dark-type damage while mounted and gives you a speed boost when riding. The exact numbers aren’t listed, but it’s a solid mount for both combat and travel. You can ride it without a saddle, but you’ll need a Legendary Saddle to unlock its full potential.
Tips & Strategy
- Bring a team of Ice-type Pals. Frostallion is the best choice, but even a high-level Vanwyrm or Helzephyr with Ice moves works.
- Use a shield. Necromus’s charge attack can one-shot you if you’re not wearing at least a Legendary Shield.
- Build a base near the Sunreach spawn point. Having a fast travel point right there makes farming much faster.
- If you’re struggling to catch it, try using a Ring of Mercy to guarantee you don’t accidentally kill it.
- Necromus is worth breeding if you want a Dark-type mount. Cross it with a Frostallion to get a Necromus with Ice moves — nasty combo.
